Two kinds of Robitussin cough syrups are being recalled because they might have something harmful in them, said federal officials on Wednesday.
Haleon, the company that makes the cough syrup, decided to recall eight batches of Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult and Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult. The recall includes 4-ounce bottles with lot number T10810 and an expiration date of Oct. 31, 2025. For the 8-ounce bottles, there are different lot numbers and expiration dates: T08730, T08731, T08732, and T08733 expire on May 31, 2025, while T10808 expires on Sept. 30, 2025.
The Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult, in 8-ounce bottles with lot numbers T08740 and T08742, has an expiration date of June 30, 2026.
Haleon didn't explain how the harmful stuff got into the cough syrup or how they found out about it.
The company warned that if people with weakened immune systems use this cough syrup, they might get really sick, even to the point of it being life-threatening. For people with normal immune systems, the risk is lower, but they could still get an infection that needs medical help.
Haleon told people to stop using the syrup right away.
If you have questions, you can call Haleon at 800-245-1040, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., EST, Monday through Friday. You can also email the company at mressa021@gmail.com.
